Principal’s message

Ms Rinna Seah

Principal

Every child is unique and the protagonist of his or her own growth. Children desire to acquire knowledge, have much capacity for curiosity and amazement, and yearn to create relationships with others and communicate. — Loris Malaguzzi

Inspired by Loris Malaguzzi and drawing on over 14 years of experience in early childhood education, I have embraced the Reggio Emilia approach, which emphasises a child-centred, inquiry-based learning environment. Creating a supportive space where children can explore their interests and learn through their questions is crucial. By viewing each child as a capable learner — and using observation and documentation — I aim to better understand and support their development.

As Malaguzzi put it, “To make a lovable school — industrious, inventive, liveable, documentable and communicable; a place of research, learning, recognition and reflection, where children, teachers and families feel well — is our point of arrival.” This guides my commitment to a strong home–school partnership. Engaging with families and valuing their insights creates a cohesive support system for each child’s growth. I aim to cultivate a love of learning and ensure every child thrives in a nurturing, collaborative and engaging environment. I look forward to shaping our children’s future together.

Curriculum

Designing how we learn
Ms Hema, Curriculum Specialist

Ms Hema

Curriculum Specialist

‘Ms Hema!’ is what I hear shouted out when the little ones surround me. While studying, I never imagined myself as an educational professional — but after 14 years of teaching and creating curricula, I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this lifelong profession.

With a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, experience across enrichment programmes, and as an IB PYP teacher, I strongly believe in play-based and inquiry-based learning, where children co-create and turn their curiosity into something extraordinary. I find joy in creating curricula — seeing how they guide fellow teachers, support parents and nurture the little ones is what truly feeds my soul. As seeds grow into flowers and trees, children are no different; in that sense, I’m one proud ‘farmer’.

Ms Kirsten, English Teacher

Ms Kirsten

English Teacher

Hello, I’m Ms Kirsten! I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Years Education. A British citizen raised in South Africa, I’ve lived in Wales, England, Vietnam, China and now Singapore for the past four years. As a mother of two and a teacher, I’m committed to developing young minds holistically — nurturing every sphere of a child’s development to raise well-balanced children who become well-adjusted adults.

I adore working with children and pride myself on a warm, friendly environment where students feel safe and motivated to explore. The values I focus on most are kindness, respect and responsibility — alongside celebrating the diversity of culture in the classroom — and I believe in inquiry-based learning to build creative, lifelong learners. I look forward to meeting you all!

My name is Nur Safiyyah Aqilah, and I’m honoured to teach at Pegasus International Preschool. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have two years of experience as an early childhood educator, with a commitment to ongoing learning and growth. I became a teacher to inspire children to achieve their goals and become independent, productive members of society — I’m passionate about education and making a positive impact on children’s lives.

Ms Joy, English Teacher

Ms Joy

English Teacher

Over years of experience across different countries, I’ve had the privilege of guiding children through their preschool years, fuelled by a passion for nurturing curiosity and laying the foundation for lifelong learning — regardless of culture or background. As Fred Rogers said, “Anyone who does anything to help a child is a hero to me.”

That belief drives my teaching: each day is an opportunity to inspire and support the unique potential of every child. I strive to create an environment where children feel valued, encouraged and empowered to explore their world — keeping every classroom moment both fun and full of learning.

Hello everyone! My name is Wang XiaoOu, from China. I graduated from Anshan Normal University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Since my internship I’ve built three years of teaching experience — in kindergartens in China and a Chinese-language enrichment centre in Singapore. That experience shaped my philosophy: “To reach children’s hearts, you must first become like a child yourself.” I look forward to supporting our children’s growth together. Thank you!

Mandarin Teacher

I’m Teacher Feng Dandan, from China — a graduate of Tonghua Normal University majoring in Early Childhood Education, with four years’ experience. I believe every child is unique, with their own pace, so I emphasise personalised teaching — designing activities around each child’s interests and encouraging hands-on exploration. My philosophy is “growing in love and freedom”: children should feel the warmth of home while learning and building social skills in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. I deeply value the Reggio Emilia approach and home–school cooperation.

I’m Teacher Wei Ran, from Shandong, China — a graduate of Qufu Normal University with twelve years of rich teaching experience. I love working with children and being part of my team, and I’m delighted to learn and play with the children every day. I care for and encourage each child, paying close attention to their emotional development and teaching to each child’s needs — so they come to love Chinese: happy to speak, willing to speak, daring to speak, and able to write!

Maggie Laoshi, Mandarin Teacher

Maggie Laoshi

Mandarin Teacher

Hello everyone! I’m your early childhood education partner with over ten years of teaching experience. To me, education isn’t just transmitting knowledge — it’s an incredible journey of exploration and growth alongside children. I believe the parent–child relationship is at the heart of education, and that every child has a unique “superpower”: we celebrate the shining points of their personalities, not just their achievements. My teaching emphasises inquiry-based learning — children express themselves freely while teachers guide them — using drawing, storytelling and games to build critical thinking joyfully.

Language, culture and resilience
Miyoko Sensei, Japanese Teacher

Miyoko Sensei

Japanese Teacher

Hello, and thank you for your interest in our school. My career began in Japan in vocational training and career counselling, supporting job seekers from all walks of life. In exploring how best to help people live authentically, I studied widely — becoming a Senior Counsellor with the Japan Industrial Counselors Association and a Career Consultant with the Nikkei Federation, and training in NLP, social and assertion training, and focusing.

I later worked between Singapore and Japan and have spent over a decade as a Japanese-language teacher. I’m convinced the most essential quality in today’s uncertain world is resilience — the ability to adapt and thrive in any situation. Through my classes I hope to support not just language learning but resilience: helping children value themselves, communicate in their own way, and design their own lives. My hobby is Aikido, and I look forward to sharing many experiences with our little ones.
