Pegasus International Preschool Pte Ltd — the preschool with a difference in Novena. We first opened our doors in May 2013 with a clear vision: to deliver an inquiry-based, high-quality early childhood experience for children aged 18 months to 6 years, in a fun and conducive environment.
Transformative, child-centred preschool education
Your child loves to ask “Why?” as soon as they can express themselves confidently. Driven by curiosity, children seek to explore the world from infancy — and at no time in life is that curiosity more powerful than in early childhood.
At Pegasus, our curriculum is focused on inquiry-based learning, where children begin by forming questions through interactions with their environment. We start this inquiry by understanding the many questions children ask and letting them explore intuitively, using their own senses.
Initiated by their interests, we engage our preschoolers to explore concepts creatively — language and literacy, mathematics, and physical and cognitive development. Because we believe a holistic approach is essential for a preschooler, Pegasus places strong emphasis on children’s physical well-being, character building and environmental consciousness.
A “need or want to know” premise
Through the process of inquiry, children construct much of their understanding of the natural and human-designed worlds. Inquiry isn’t so much about seeking the single right answer — because often there isn’t one — but about seeking appropriate resolutions to questions and issues.
At Pegasus, inquiry means an emphasis on developing inquiry skills and nurturing inquiring attitudes and habits of mind — the kind that enable children to continue the quest for knowledge throughout life.

We aim to motivate and nurture children so they discover the joy and fulfilment of learning. Quality early childhood care is of vital importance to children’s growth and development — research on brain development has proven how important the early years are to a child’s learning.
We take a multi-faceted approach. A child’s development and learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom, but at home too, so we strongly encourage and actively involve parents in providing early learning experiences.
Pegasus promotes an inquiry-based curriculum in contrast to traditional rote-learning techniques. Immersive, inquiry-based learning empowers children to observe, enquire, explore and comprehend their subject matter. We aim to expose children to the joy of learning and to equip them with the skills to actively explore their interests.
